Australian Archery Organisations
Archery Australia (archery.org.au) is the controlling body in Australia for all forms of target archery and some forms of field shooting. Archery Australia (AA) is affiliated with FITA (International Archery Federation) which controls world championships in target archery and field shooting, as well as the Olympic Games competition. AA is also affiliated with the World Crossbow Shooting Association (WSCA) which allows Australian arbalists to compete in world and regional championships in crossbow shooting.

Tourist Information - Historic River Port of Goolwa, South Australia
Goolwa is the first Cittaslow (or slow town) in Australia. Accreditation was received in March 2007. More details on the Cittaslow Goolwa website.

In January 2003, Goolwa won the Best Decorated Town for Stage 4 of the Jacob's Creek Tour Down Under international cycling race. Goolwa won the Best Decorated Town award in January 2000 for Stage 2 of the Jacob's Creek Tour Down Under race. Goolwa hosted the start of Stage 3 in January 2004 and also won the Best Dressed Town. Goolwa again won this award in 2005 and 2006. Cittaslow Goolwa won an award for its special cycling sculpture in 2007. In 2010 Goolwa won the Silver Award for the Santos Tour Down Under Best Dressed Town.
In May 2004, Goolwa celebrated the 150th Anniversary of the first public railway line in Australia. In October 2001, Goolwa was the focus of the completion of the Centenary of Federation event, the "Source to Sea". In May, Goolwa was announced as the 1999 Australian Tidy Towns Award winner!
The Wooden Boat Festival is held in Goolwa every 2 years. The next one will be in 2013. The Wooden Boat and Music Festival website has all the required contact information.
Watch for special activities organised by the Goolwa Traders. See GOOLWA ALIVE - a community street party - Sunday of the Labour Long Weekend usually in October from 10.00am. Something for all the family!
